The AM1163-1 from Atlanta Micro is a Gain Block Amplifier that operates from DC to 10 GHz. It provides 15 dB of gain, has an output P1dB of 18 dBm, and a noise figure of 2.5 dB. This DC-coupled gain block exhibits a moderate positive gain-slope, providing frequency equalization that is useful in many broadband applications. It requires a DC supply voltage of 3-5 V and consumes less than 80 mA of current.
The AM1163-1 provides similar performance to Atlanta Micro’s AM1063 with the benefit of an improved low-frequency noise figure. It is available in a surface-mount package that measures 3 x 3 mm and can operate at temperatures ranging from -40 to 85°C.
