The AMP51505925-TRX from Becker Nachrichtentechnik GmbH is a Wi-Fi Tx/Rx Booster Amplifier for the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band from 5150 to 5925 MHz. This amplifier consists of a high linearity Tx power amplifier and a low noise Rx amplifier path. The default setting of the internal Tx/Rx switch is Rx (LNA path). An integrated high-speed level detector at the input recognizes transmitter power coming from the access point to set Tx/Rx switch to the Tx (power amplifier path). In the Rx mode, the device provides a gain of 20 dB with a noise figure of 3.5 dB, while in the Tx mode, it provides a P1dB of 28 dBm with a linear gain of 20 dB. The amplifier requires a supply voltage of 12 to 28 V and consumes 4.8 watts of power in Tx mode. The supply of the module with DC power occurs via an internal bias tee that routes the DC power between the RF input and output. This enables cascading of additional booster amplifier modules without the need of additional power supplies.
This booster amplifier is available in a rugged module that measures 59 x 28 x 78 mm with N-type female connectors. It also has two LEDs - One for DC power indication and the other for TX overload state indication. This booster amplifier is ideal for use in Wi-Fi 802.11 a/n/ac systems and for radio coverage in rail and street tunnels and buildings.
