The VSS3607 from CPI is a high power GaN solid state amplifier that operates from 2.7 to 2.9 GHz in the S-band. It provides a gain of 50 dB with a saturated peak output power of 1.3 kW. The amplifier requires a supply voltage of 31 VDC and consumes up to 14 A of current. GaN transistors are combined into 1.3 kW brick which is air cooled. Multiple 1.3 kW bricks can be combined using radial combiners and waveguide combiners for high power generation. This amplifier utilizes GaN transistors to provide high gain, high efficiency and excellent pulse fidelity providing excellent AM/PM, phase-noise and spectral regrowth. Each amplifier is available in a rack mount module that measures 9.5 x 1.75 x 15.5 inches with N-type female connectors. The amplifiers are ideal for ATC radars, air surveillance radars and military radar applications.
