The CMPA5585030D from MACOM is a GaN HEMT-based MMIC Power Amplifier that operates from 5.5 to 8.5 GHz. The PA provides a saturated output power of 50 watts with a signal gain of 30 dB and power added efficiency of over 40%. It requires a supply voltage of 28 Volts and has a high breakdown voltage. This MMIC contains a two-stage, reactively matched amplifier design approach enabling very wide bandwidths to be achieved. It is available as a bare die that measures 0.142 x 0.188 x 0.004 inches and is ideal for point to point radio, communications and test instrumentation amplifiers.
