The Model 2215 from Empower RF is a high power SSPA for EMC, RF Product Test, Communications, and Electronic Warfare applications. It provides an output saturated power of 200 watts and a P1dB of 100 watts with a power gain of 53 dB. The amplifier has a rugged design and is based on a patented architecture that virtually eliminates every internal connector found in the typical RF/Microwave system amplifier. This amplifier utilizes high power GaN devices that provide wide frequency response, high gain, high peak power capability, and low distortions. Exceptional performance, long-term reliability and high efficiency are achieved by employing advanced broadband RF matching networks and combining techniques, EMI/RFI filters, and all qualified components.
This amplifier is suitable for CW, AM, FM, Pulse and some linear applications (Consult factory for other modulation types). It is constructed within a single 5RU drawer including the forced air-cooling. It requires single-phase 220 VAC up to 400 Hz and 28 VDC voltage supply to operate.
The amplifier can be remotely managed and diagnostics can be run via an embedded web server allowing network managed site status and control simply by connecting the unit’s Ethernet port to a LAN. It can also be controlled from a web browser - the unit’s IP address (IPV4) allows ease of access with the benefit of multi-level security. The control system core runs an embedded OS (Linux), has a built-in non-volatile memory for event recording, and factory setup recovery features. The extended memory option allows storage of control parameters and event logs.
