The 2241 from Empower RF Systems is a Solid-State Pulsed Power Amplifier System that operates from 9 to 10 GHz. It delivers a pulsed output power of 1 kW with a power gain of 65 dB and has a duty cycle from 0.5 to 20%. This amplifier utilizes high-power GaN on SiC devices that provide wide frequency response, high gain, high peak power capability, and low distortions. It has built-in control and monitoring systems, with protection functions that preserve high output availability and reliability. This amplifier is constructed within one single 3RU drawer including forced air-cooling and is suitable for pulse applications in the X-band.
The 2241 supports remote management and diagnostics can be done via an embedded web server allowing network-managed site status and control simply by connecting the unit’s Ethernet port to a LAN. The control system core runs an embedded OS (Linux), and has a built-in non-volatile memory for event recording, and factory setup recovery features. It is available in a rackmount enclosure that measures 17.00 x 5.25 x 22.00 inches with an N-Type (female) input connector and WR-90 waveguide interface at the output. This amplifier can operate on both AC and DC supply.
