The MPA1081 from Exodus Advanced Communications is a GaAs Low Noise Amplifier that operates from 1 to 18 GHz. This class AB amplifier provides a small signal gain of more than 30 dB with a noise figure of less than 6 dB and a P1dB of 0.5 W (1 W Saturated Power). It requires a DC supply of 12 V and consumes up to 0.9 A of current. The amplifier has built-in protection circuits and requires an external heat sink for cooling. The MPA1081 is available in a rugged module that measures 70 x 60 x 15 mm with SMA female connectors and is suitable for all single channel modulation standards.
