The FM15B5003 from Fairview Microwave is a Bi-Directional GaN Amplifier that operates from 30 MHz to 2.7 GHz. It delivers up to 8 W of peak TX power with a gain of 39 dB. It can also deliver 2 W of linear power for 16 QAM with an EVM of better than 9%. On the Rx side, it provides a gain of 30 dB with a noise figure of 2 dB and has a P1dB of 15 dBm. It requires a DC supply voltage from 12 to 30 V and consumes only 24 W of DC power (Tx).
This amplifier is available in a module that measures 3.25 x 2.42 x 0.54 inches with SMA (F) connectors and is ideal for use in SWaP friendly commercial and military software-defined radios (SDR), L-band military radios, communication systems, high-gain driver power amplifiers, and high-gain output power amplifiers. It meets MIL-STD-810 environmental conditions for shock and vibration, in addition to exposure to 95% humidity and up to 30,000 ft altitude. An additional cable assembly with DC socket connector is available (FMAMJ000) as an accessory specific to this model.
