The GRF4002 is a low noise amplifier (LNA)/linear driver that operates from 0.1 to 3.8 GHz. At 2.5 GHz, it provides a gain of 15 dB with a noise figure (NF) of 0.85 dB for the evaluation board. The LNA delivers an OP1dB of 23.5 dBm and an OIP3 of 36.5 dBm biased at 5.0 volts and 70 mA. This part provides the gain, noise figure, linearity and biasing flexibility necessary to make it an outstanding stage-2 Satellite Digital Audio Radio Service (SDARS) LNA for automotive applications. The device operates over a range of Vdd levels from 1.8 to 5.0 volts and Iddq can be varied over 15mA to 80 mA depending on application linearity and efficiency requirements. GRF4002 is internally matched to 50 ohms at the input and output ports, needing only external DC blocks and a bias choke on the input. The device is part of a family of over 30 Guerrilla RF devices each using an ultra-small 1.5 mm DFN-6 package and a common pinout.
