The SGN-X3-400 from Kratos is a Solid-State Power Amplifier that operates in the X-band with a bandwidth of up to 9%. This amplifier delivers a saturated output power of more than 400 W with a small signal gain of 70 dB and has an efficiency of 20%. It has a maximum pulse width of 256 µs and a duty cycle of up to 20%. This power amplifier is based on GaN technology that offers lower cost, high efficiency, high reliability, and power redundancy. It requires a DC supply from 22 to 36 V and consumes 420 W of power. This SSPA is available in a module that measures 9.0 x 7.0 x 1.6 inches and has an SMA-female input connector and WR90 output waveguide interface. It is ideal for use in radar, data links, communications, and test system applications.
