The CMPA901A020S from MACOM is a GaN MMIC Power Amplifier that operates from 9 to 10 GHz. It has been developed for pulsed radar applications and delivers a saturated output power of more than 20 W with a gain of over 30 dB. The amplifier uses MACOM’s high-performance 0.15um GaN-on-SiC production process and has a power-added efficiency (PAE) of up to 53% with support for lower system DC power requirements. It is available in a plastic overmold QFN package that measures 6 x 6 mm and is suitable for use in X-band pulsed radars, marine weather radars and military radars.

The CMPA901A020S requires reduced board space and supports high-throughput manufacturing lines.
