The MAX2678 from Maxim Integrated is a Dual Stage GPS/GNSS Front-End Amplifier IC that operates at 1575 MHz. It includes two unconditionally stable low-noise amplifier stages which provide high gain and integrated I/O matching to minimize the need for external matching components and eliminate the need for additional gain stages. This IC provides a maximum combined gain of 35 dB with a noise figure of less than 1 dB. It features the option to place a bandpass ceramic or surface acoustic wave (SAW) filter between the two amplifier stages for improved immunity to out-of-band interferers. This AEC-Q100 Qualified IC requires a DC supply from 3 to 5.25 V and consumes less than 35 mA of current.
The MAX2678 is available in a 10-pin-TDFN package that measures 3 x 3 mm and is ideal for use in integrated automotive & marine GPS receivers and active antennas applications or for any application that needs to compensate for cable losses from the antenna to the receiver.
