The Xtender™ ULSC-20-C01-S01 from NuWaves is a 4-Port Full-Duplex Bi-Directional Amplifier that operates from 0.5 to 6 GHz. In Tx mode, this amplifier delivers a saturated output power of 20 W with a gain of 38 dB while in Rx mode, it provides a gain of 20 dB and has a noise of 5 dB. It is based on gallium nitride (GaN) technology and includes over-voltage and reverse voltage protection features. This full-duplex amplifier has an overall efficiency of 27% and is ideal for extending the communication range of full-duplex wideband transceivers and Software Defined Radios (SDRs). It requires a DC supply of 28 V, and consumes less than 0.7 A of current in Tx mode and 100 mA of current in Rx mode.
The ULSC-20-C01-S01 has a compact form-factor that enables system integrators to easily incorporate the unit into the communication payload of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) or other small to medium-sized platforms. It allows easy mitigation and detection across a wide frequency range with a single amplifier, eliminating the need for multiple amplifiers to cover the different UAS operating bands. This amplifier is available in a module that measures 6.00 x 4.25 x 1.50 inches with SMA-female connectors and is MIL-STD-461F CS101, CS114-116, RS103, RE102 and CE102 compliant. It is ideal for use in Kratos DS-346 KestrelTWM Radio/SCISR, Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGV), airborne datalinks, software defined radios, counter UAS and communication systems applications.
