The CMD216 from Custom MMIC is a 14 to 18 GHz GaN power amplifier die that has been developed for Ku Band, radar, military, space and test instrumentation. It delivers 16 dB of gain across the entire 14 to 18 GHz bandwidth, an output P1dB of 37 dBm, and saturated output power of 38 dBm. The CMD216 requires a bias of 28 V, draws 550 ma of current and has a PAE greater than 32%. The die passivated for increased reliability and moisture protection. It is matched to 50 ohms and only requires external bypass capacitors to complete the bias circuitry.
