The BHED718778-500 from Stellant Systems is a Solid-State Power Amplifier System that operates from 7.125 to 7.725 GHz. It delivers an output power of 500 W with a gain of more than 50 dB and has a duty cycle of up to 100%. The amplifier is based on GaN technology and has a noise figure of less than 18 dB with a gain stability of 0.25 dB at an output power of 500 W. It has been developed to replace older Travelling Wave Tube Amplifier technology and operates reliably in harsh environmental conditions.
The BHED718778-500 can perform Tx/Rx switching, has alarm for fault sensing, and a harmonic filter. It also can monitor power levels using the RS485 and RS232 control interfaces. The amplifier offers protection against load VSWR, temperature, and has a stable degradation during an RF power module failure. It is available in a weatherproof enclosure that measures 14.0 x 10.4 x 23.0 inches with N-Female and CPR-112G WG Flange interfaces. The amplifier follows MIL-STD-810G specifications and is ideal for terrestrial military communications and datalink applications.
The Class AB amplifier requires an AC supply voltage of 180-264 V at 47-63 Hz and consumes 3 kVA of working power.
