The Linearized Solid-State Power Amplifier Solutions from Stellent Systems operates in the K-Band from 17.7 to 20.2 GHz. It delivers a saturated output power of 10 W with a gain of 45 dB and an efficiency of more than 30%. It is designed using a thin-film amplifier, attenuator, equalizer, linearizer, and control circuits. This SSPA is based on GaN technology and provides a high-power efficiency using a built-in amplitude and phase pre-distortion generator. The linearizer integrated into this device incorporates an output gain control to compensate for the gain variations of the LSSPA as a function of frequency. It uses the command interface to control the gain, thereby offering the desired performance.
The LSSPA is available either as a standalone or integrated with an electronic power conditioner (EPC) on a common baseplate. It also includes other options such as output isolators to aid during testing/handling and a blanking function. This power amplifier requires a DC supply of -5 V/+5.5 V/+24 V and consumes less than 32.5 W of power. It is available in a hermetic enclosure with 2.92 mm connectors.
