The TSA-216047 from Teledyne Microwave Solutions is a Ka-Band Solid-State Power Amplifier (SSPA) that operates from 29 to 31 GHz. It delivers an output power of up to 16 W with a gain of more than 33 dB and gain control range of 20 dB. This GaN-based SSPA has a noise power density of up to -90 dBm/Hz and a VSWR of less than 1.8:1. It offers monitor/control options for relative output power, internal temperature, enable/disable, and fault indication using its RS-422 interface. The amplifier also includes a hard wire, TTL (+3.3V/0V) controlled pin for disabling the unit should the RS-422 communications link fail. It requires a DC supply voltage from 20.5 to 32.5 V. The SSPA is available in a hermetically-sealed enclosure that measures 5.0 x 3.7 x 1.0 inches with 2.92 mm (Female) input connector and WR-28 cover flange with O-ring groove output interface and is ideal for airborne applications.
