The PTS10147 from TMD Technologies is a Pulsed/CW Solid State Power Amplifier that operates from 2 to 6 GHz. It employs gallium nitride (GaN) high-power transistors in its output and driver stages to deliver an output power of 100 W with a gain of 60 dB. The amplifier is flexible in layout and architecture, and both electrical and mechanical interfaces can be tailored to meet customer specific requirements. This design also provides the benefit of high power-to-volume ratio. It requires a DC supply of + 28 V and consumes 100 W of power.
The PTS10147 is available in a connectorized module that measures 137 x 120 x 24 mm and is well suited for radar and electronic warfare applications like electronic attack (jamming) enabling defence customers to use wideband SSPA technology. It can also be installed in UAV’s, drones or man-portable systems.
The amplifier is normally supplied without a heat sink or any thermal management assembly. However, TMD can supply tailored heat sinks customised to suit specific requirements.
