The CS40-Series from Westell are VHF Bi-Directional Amplifiers (BDAs) that operate from 150 to 174 MHz. They deliver an output power of up to 1 W with a gain of 85 dB and support 4-port simplex and duplex operation. These Class A/B BDAs include 16 filters per band (Class A) with individual filter bandwidths from 12.5 to 75 KHz. They support both digital and analog modulations and provide VHF band coverage along with integrated duplexers handling a range of applications that meet or exceed current codes and standards. The BDAs require a DC supply from 24 to 30 V (can also operate on AC supply) and consume less than 125 W of power. They are an integral part of any NFPA complaint Emergency Responder Communications Enhancement System (ERCES) or private land mobile radio (LMR) systems.
The CS40-Series have built-in battery charging and alarm circuitry with emergency power off (EPO) modes. They include intelligent oscillation management, built-in isolation test, NFPA/UL2524 alarm capabilities, built-in battery backup circuitry, and a built-in communication link for an optional remote annunciator panel. These BDAs also include a full-featured, easy to use web GUI with RJ-45 Ethernet port for interfacing. They are available in enclosures that measure 29.1 x 20.0 x 13.8 inches with N-type (female) antenna connectors. The BDAs are suitable for use in
- In-building coverage for commercial & residential buildings including warehouses, tunnels, and airports.
- Rapid field deployment of critical communications infrastructure.
- Wireless coverage enhancement for ‘dead zones’ including rural areas, resorts, stadiums, off-shore oil rigs, and remote field areas.
