Instrumentation baluns are used to test differential devices with single ended test equipment, but they have long been limited to below 20 GHz in frequency. The BAL-0026 is a broadband isolation balun that operates from 300 kHz to 26 GHz. This balanced to unbalanced transformer has a 1:2 impedance ratio (50 Ohmsunbalanced, 100 Ohmsdifferential/50 Ohmsbalanced port). This balun can also be used back-to-back for extending VNA or time domain test setups. Two baluns can be placed back to back without creating an insertion loss ripple or time domain echo effects.
