The LTC5596 from Analog Devices is a high accuracy RMS power detector that operates from 100 MHz to 40 GHz. The detector has dynamic range of 35 dB with a flat response and an output voltage slope of 29 mV/dB. It is suitable for measurement of waveforms with crest factor (CF) up to 12 dB peak/average ratio. The detector is available in a small 2 × 2 mm plastic DFN8 package with 2.9 mm SMK edge mount connectors and is ideal for point-to-point microwave links, instrumentation and power control applications.
