The ADAR4000 from Analog Devices is a Time Delay Unit (TDU) that operates from 2 to 18 GHz. It has 4 RF paths with a gain adjustment range of 31.8 dB each in 0.5 dB step sizes and a 6-bit gain resolution. This TDU has two programmable operating modes offering a time delay range of 508ps with a resolution of 4 ps or a time delay range of 254 ps with a resolution of 2 ps. It has a RAM for storage of up to 64 beamstates and an on-chip sequencer that selects and advances the beam state being sourced from either the RAM or the FIFO. This TDU can be controlled via a 3-wire or 4-wire SPI interface. It is available in a 36-lead LFCSP package that measures 6 x 6 mm and is ideal for electronically steerable antenna arrays, multi-function arrays, SATCOM, radar, data links, and test equipment applications.
