The ADRF5731 from Analog Devices is a 4-Bit Silicon Digital Attenuator that operates from 100 MHz to 40 GHz. This attenuator has a 30 dB range with a step size of 2 dB. It has an insertion loss of less than 3.5 dB, and can handle up to 26 dBm of average power and 30 dBm of peak power. The ADRF5731 requires a dual supply voltage of +3.3 V and -3.3 V. It features serial peripheral interface (SPI), parallel mode control, and complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS)-/low voltage transistor to transistor logic (LVTTL)-compatible controls. The attenuator is available in a 16-terminal, 2.5 mm × 2.5 mm, RoHS compliant, land grid array (LGA) package and operates from -40°C to +105°C.
The wide frequency range from 100 MHz to 40 GHz allows this attenuator to be used for a wide range of applications including, Industrial scanners, Test and instrumentation, Cellular infrastructure: 5G millimeter wave, military radios, radars, electronic countermeasures (ECMs), Microwave radios and very small aperture terminals (VSATs).
