The 4801-8-127 from Spectrum Control is an 8-Channel Programmable Attenuator that operates from 0.3 to 8000 MHz. It provides an attenuation range from 0 to 127 dB in 0.25 dB steps and an attenuation switching time of 0.2 µs. This attenuator allows all eight channels to be independently programmed to offer design flexibility and offers excellent solid-state repeatability. It requires a DC supply of +5 V via the USB port and consumes 100 mA of current.
The 4801-8-127 can be controlled via either 10/100 Base-T Ethernet or USB 2.0 interfaces and allows the user to operate either independently, or in a synchronized way where all the channels change simultaneously. It can be used in conjunction with any software that can communicate to a standard virtual COM port, thereby offering remote control operation. This programmable attenuator supports network protocols such as IP, UDP, TCP, ICMP (ARP and PING), DHCP, AUTOIP, TELNET, and HTTP. It is available in a module that measures 243.84 x 83.44 x 17.55 mm with SMA (female) connectors and is ideal for mobile handover, traffic simulation test environments, MU-MIMO, WiMAX, automated test equipment (ATE), 3G/4G-LTE/5G/DVB fading test simulation, and Wi-Fi testing applications.
