The GRF6402 from Guerrilla RF is a 7-bit Digital Attenuator that operates from 0.5 to 6 GHz. It has an attenuation range of 31.75 dB with a step size of 0.25 dB and a settling time of 210 ns. The attenuator has an insertion loss of 1.4 dB and an IIP3 of 55 dBm. It features a programmable Rapid Fire attenuation setting that circumvents delays associated with SPI Programming. The device’s serial interface utilizes three externally-defined address bits, allowing up to 8 unique devices to share a common SPI bus.
This bi-directional attenuator has glitches of less than 2 dB for all steps. It requires a DC supply of 3.3 and 5 V. The attenuator is available in a surface mount 16-pin QFN package that measures 3 x 3 mm and is ideal for 5G wireless infrastructure, cellular repeaters/boosters & DAS systems, automotive cellular and V2X compensators, millimeter-wave IF stages, high-performance gain trim, and AGC loops applications.
