The GRF6402-W from Guerrilla RF is a Bi-Directional Digital Step Attenuator that operates from 50 MHz to 6 GHz. It provides an attenuation range of up to 31.75 dB in 0.25 dB steps using 7-bit control lines and has a settling time of 210 ns. This attenuator has an enhanced 3-wire serial-parallel interface (SPI) which incorporates multi-device addressing, allowing it to support up to eight unique devices. It also includes a special Rapid Fire selection pin which allows the device to be immediately switched to a pre-defined attenuation state. The attenuator minimizes glitches to less than 2 dB for all steps and maintains precise, monotonic gain stepping.
The GRF6402-W requires a DC supply of 3.3/5 V and consumes less than 265 μA of current. It is available in a surface-mount QFN-16 package that measures 3 x 3 mm and is ideal for use in high-performance gain trim and AGC loops, automotive cellular and V2X compensators, millimeter wave IF stages, cellular repeaters, boosters and DAS systems, and 5G wireless infrastructure applications. It has an operating temperature range from -40° to 115°C.
