The LDA-908V from Vaunix is a Solid-State Digital Attenuator that operates from 200 to 8000 MHz. It has an attenuation range of 90 dB (in 0.1 dB steps) with an attenuation accuracy of ±1 dB and has a switching speed of 15 μs. This attenuator can handle an input level of 23 dBm and has an insertion loss of less than 11 dB. It requires a DC supply of 5 V (via USB) and consumes 75 mA of current. The attenuator has USB and Ethernet interfaces. The USB port uses a native HID interface to avoid the difficulties inherent in using older serial or IEEE-488 interfaces implemented over USB. The Ethernet interface is configurable for Static IP or DHCP with the ability to assign the HTTP port for extra security.
The LDA-908V is easily programmable for fixed attenuation, swept attenuation ramps, and fading profiles directly from the included Graphical User Interface (GUI). Alternatively, Vaunix supplies LabVIEW drivers, Windows API DLL files, Linux drivers, Python examples, and more for users to develop their own interface. It is available in a portable module that measures 108.5 x 50.0 x 21.8 mm with SMA-female connectors and is ideal for Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi 6E, 3G/4G/5G/LTE, microwave radio fading simulators, engineering/production test labs and Automated Test Equipment (ATE) applications.
