The 200437 from Millimeter Wave Systems is a mmWave Frequency Doubler that up-converts an input frequency from 10 - 25 GHz to an output frequency from 20 - 50 GHz. An internal multiplier with a multiplication factor of two is followed by a GaAs MMIC amplifier to deliver an output power of over 20 dBm (100 mW). It provides an excellent fundamental rejection of over 40 dB (up to 40 GHz).
The multiplier requires a DC supply of 8-12 V and consumes less than 350 mA of current. It uses an EMI suppressing feed-thru and ground turret terminals to connect DC. Negative bias is generated internally through an inverter on the power conditioning board, including voltage regulation and bias sequenced electronics. A reverse polarity series diode protects the module against the misconnection of DC.
The 200437 is available in a module with SMA compatible input connectors and 2.92 mm (for the 40 GHz version) and 2.4 mm (for the 50 GHz version) output connectors. The multiplier is ideal for applications requiring sources in the frequency range of 25 GHz to 50 GHz for test and measurement.
