The PTX100R from Panthronics is a Multi-Protocol NFC Reader chipset that operates at a frequency of 13.56 MHz. It supports a bit rate from 26.5 to 848 kbit/s and has an operating distance of up to 320 mm. This reader chipset provides an output power of up to 2 W and has a receiver/LMA sensitivity of -80 dBc. It is based on 180 nm technology and has an EMI filter-less (DiRAC) end-application RF design. The NFC reader IC has a high-power digital conversion sine wave RF frontend, phase-accurate active load-modulation HCE and digital dynamic power control (DDPC). It requires a DC supply from 2.5 to 5.5 V, consumes less than 650 mA of current while transmitting, 3 μA of current in power-down mode, and 100 μA of current in low-power card detection mode.
The PTX100R chipset can be controlled via SPI, I2C, and UART interfaces. It supports ISO/IEC 14443 A/B, EMVCo 3.0/3.1, ISO/IEC 18092, FeliCa, ISO/IEC 15693, and ISO/IEC 18000-3 M1 reader/writer standards and protocols. It is EMVCo 3.0, NFC P2P, and Host Card Emulation (HCE) compliant (with PoS SDK) and supports full NFC-compliant reader modes. This NFC reader is available in a QFN56 package and is ideal for EMVCo PoS, SmartPoS terminals (antenna behind the display), Chip&Sign small POS, ATM POS modules, transportation Reader, high-end readers, access control, door lock, accessories identification, brand protection, e-Government, eMRTD, and home eID small FF NFC reader applications.
