The CNG-EbNo Series from Maury Microwave are fully automated instruments that can set and maintain a highly accurate ratio between a user-supplied carrier and internally generated AWGN noise, over a wide range of signal power levels and frequencies. These Precision SNR Noise Generators operate at a frequency from 50 MHz to 22 GHz. They deliver a variable output power from -55 dBm to -5 dBm with an accuracy of ±0.5 dB and can measure signals and noise accurately with Gaussian Noise crest factors up to 18 dB.
The CNG-EbNo gives system, design, and test engineers in the cellular/PCS, satellite, and military communication industries a cost-effective means of obtaining higher yield through automated testing, plus increased confidence from repeatable, accurate test results.
These noise generators support carrier-to-noise (C/N), carrier-to-noise density (C/No), bit energy-to-noise density (Eb/No), carrier-to-interferer (C/I), and power meter modes. They are ideal for military communications, WCDMA, SATCOM, NASA TDRSS, CableTV, HDTV, IS-95, CDMA, TSMA, UMTS, GPRS L-band modems, Milstar, Inmarsat, Intelsat, and general-purpose applications.
The CNG-EbNo series of noise generators can be controlled via a 6.25” color TFT touchscreen display or locally via TCP/IP & GPIB interfaces. They are available in benchtop enclosures that measure 17.00 x 5.25 x 17.50 inches and have BNC (75-ohm)/N-type (50-ohm) connectors. These generators require an AC supply from 85 to 264 V and consume less than 2 A of current.
