The XO5503 from MtronPTI is an Oven-Controlled Crystal Oscillator (OCXO) that operates at 100 MHz. It provides a sinewave output with an output power of up to +9 dBm and has a frequency stability of ±100 ppb. This OCXO has an SSB phase noise of -162 dBc/Hz (at 10 kHz offset) and harmonics of -60 dBc. It incorporates an SC-cut Quartz resonator and an electronic vibration compensation that achieve a g-sensitivity of 0.02 ppb/g. This crystal oscillator replaces bulkier references, thereby raising system performance while lowering the size and weight. It has no moving parts to prevent mechanical degradation during the dynamic phase or any effects due to temperature. This oscillator requires a DC supply of 12 V and consumes less than 5 W of power. It is available in a surface-mount package that measures 2.0 x 1.5 x 0.8 inches and is ideal for use in airborne radars, shipboard radars, and airborne satellite communication applications.
