The ROM1490X from Rakon is an Oven-Controlled Crystal Oscillator (OCXO) that operates from 10 to 50 MHz. It provides a CMOS output waveform with an SSB phase noise of -155 dBc/Hz (at 1 kHz offset) and has a frequency stability of ±3 ppb. This OCXO has a warm-up time of 180 seconds and a g-sensitivity of 0.9 ppb/g. It incorporates Rakon’s proprietary Mercury™ ASIC and XMEMS® resonator technologies to provide increased stability and holdover performance. This oscillator is designed for data centre synchronization, 5G base stations and small cells, 5G Advanced and 6G radio access networks (RAN). It requires a DC supply from 2.7 to 5 V and consumes less than 440 mW of power.
The ROM1490X offers thermal protection and can withstand increased low/high temperatures and airflows while maintaining reliable frequency signals and timing synchronization. This Stratum 3E-compliant OCXO is available in a thermally-enhanced surface-mount package that measures 14.2 x 9.2 x 6.5 mm and is ideal for use in radio access networks/O-RANs, cable modem CMTS and remote PHYs, switches, data centers, and test and measurement applications.
