The SiT7102 from SiTime is a MEMS-based Oven Controlled Crystal Oscillator (OCXO) that operates from 60 to 220 MHz. It provides an LVCMOS or clipped sinewave output with a frequency stability of ±5 ppb and a time error of less than 3.0 µs time error after 12 hrs without GPS synchronization. This OCXO uses SiTime’s temperature sensing technology and advanced CMOS design to deliver exceptional stability in the presence of environmental stressors such as airflow, temperature perturbation, vibration, shock, and EMI. It minimizes link drops in high-vibration environments and reduces the need for costly screening or burn-in tests. The oscillator has an on-chip power-supply noise filtering for exceptional PSNR that eliminates the need for a dedicated LDO for OCXO.
The SiT7102 has a 5E-12 ADEV (Allan Deviation) at a 10-second averaging time which makes it exceptionally better than vibration-rated quartz OCXOs. It has an aging of ±0.1 ppb/day and can survive a shock of 20,000 g which makes its g-sensitivity exceptionally better than vibration-rated quartz OCXOs. This OCXO has a frequency pull range of ±400 ppm with fine resolution as low as 0.05 ppt (5E-14). It requires a DC supply of 2.5, 2.8 or 3.3 V and consumes 460 mW (3.3 V) of power. It is available in a robust and compact surface mount package that measures 9.0 x 7.0 x 3.6 mm and is ideal for assured Positioning Navigation Timing (PNT), GNSS receivers, guidance systems, data communication systems, satcom terminal, radar, manpack and airborne radios, vehicle communication holdover and IEEE 1588 synchronization applications.
