The VPLDRO-RE100 from Polaris is a Variable Frequency PLDRO that operates from 5 to 29 GHz and its output frequency can be varied in steps of 10 kHz or less within a specified bandwidth. It is capable of providing both the ultra-low phase noise performance of the PLDRO and the excellent frequency resolution of a direct digital synthesizer. This PLDRO provides an output power of 15 dBm and has a phase noise of -112 dBc/Hz @ 10 kHz offset at 13 GHz. It requires a supply voltage of 12 V and consumes 330 mA of current.
The VPLDRO-RE100 incorporates a clean and stable crystal oscillator to be locked at 100 MHz as the external reference. It has spurious levels of better than -70 dBc and harmonics of better than -30 dBc. This 50-Ohm PLDRO is available as a connectorized module that measures 2.25 x 3.15 x 1.157 inches and has SMA female connectors for RF output and reference input. It is ideal for radar systems, VSAT, SATCOM, test equipment, Microwave transmitters & receivers, LMDS, and missile guidance applications.
