The DRF3182 from Mercury Systems is a Data Converter that is designed to directly digitize RF signals in radar, communications, and electronic warfare systems. It eliminates the need to implement RF-to-IF down conversion prior to digitization. This converter combines excellent data capture capability with powerful processing from Intel’s 14 nm Intel Stratix 10 SoC FPGA, making it suitable for applications with size, weight, and power constraints. It facilitates the reuse of common IP across FPGAs to optimize time-to-market and reduce development time. This converter integrates 4 Rx and 4 Tx interfaces on the front panel along with 8 pipes leading to ports P1 and P2, resulting in high ingress/egress bandwidth of 600 Gbps.

The DRF3182 has accurate 10-bit ADC and DAC that deliver sampling rates of up to 51.2 GSPS and have high instantaneous bandwidth that allows large portions of spectrum to be directly digitized. It provides frequency agility to enable systems to rapidly respond to ever-charging spectral environment. This module supports state-of-the-art on-chip interconnections and packaging technologies to achieve a relatively low latency and power compared to serial interfaces which use discrete transceivers. It includes EchoCore FPGA IP to provide the basic infrastructure right out of the box. This converter has PCIe Gen 3 interface and SLT3-SWH-8F-14.14.2 slot profile for data and backplane connection support. 

The DRF3182 also includes sensor interfaces to monitor temperature and voltage to ensure safety during operation. It is conduction-cooled and has an operating temperature range from -40°C to +60°C. It is available in a 3U Open VPX enclosure and is ideal for high-speed connectivity and high-performance applications with SWAP constraints.
