The A1 from Acconeer is a High-Precision, Pulsed Short-Range Radar Sensor that operates in the unlicensed 60 GHz ISM frequency band. This radar sensor has a range of 60-2000 mm and can detect multiple objects with a single measurement as well as continuous sweeps. It is based on a unique patented technology enabling millimeter accuracy with very low power consumption without the need for an aperture. The sensor consists of 60 GHz pulsed coherent radar (PCR) and short-range device (SRD) sensors in a SiP (system in package) with embedded radio and antenna. It provides robust performance without interference from noise, dust, color and direct or indirect light.
The A1 requires a DC supply of 1.8 V and consumes less than 1 mW of power. It can be controlled via SPI and GPIO interfaces. This sensor is available in an FCCSP package that measures 5.50 x 5.20 x 0.88 mm. The small size and low power consumption are ideal for integration into compact battery-driven devices.
