The K-LC6 from RFbeam is a 24 GHz Short-Range Doppler Radar Transceiver. This dual-channel module has an asymmetrical narrow beam for short to medium-distance sensors and is ideally suited for person and vehicle movement and presence sensors. It includes an RF low noise amplifier (LNA) for improved signal-to-noise performance and has dual IF I and Q which allow movement direction detection and high-performance signal processing. This transceiver has a horizontal beamwidth of 12° and a vertical beamwidth of 80°. On the Tx side, it provides an output power (EIRP) of 16 dBm with spurious emissions of -30 dBm and has a turn-on time of 6 μs while on the Rx side, it provides a receiver gain of 12.5 dB and has a receiver sensitivity of -108 dBm.
The K-LC6 has an option for an internal IF amplifier. It requires a DC supply of 3.3 or 5 V and consumes 85 mA of current. This radar transceiver is available in a package that measures 66 x 5 x 6 mm. It is ideal for use in indoor and outdoor lighting control applications, traffic supervision and counting, object speed measurement systems, ranging and distance detection using FSK or FMCW, industrial sensors, and home automation.
