The TRX_120_001 from Silicon Radar is a Radar Transceiver that operates from 119.3 to 125.8 GHz. It supports FMCW/CW modes and can be used for distance and speed measurement of objects using analog signals. This transceiver converts high-frequency radar signals to smaller analog signals with a maximum frequency of 2 GHz. This allows for routing and signal processing of all signals on cost-efficient PCBs. It can be implemented on standard FR4 boards and combined with other IC components for control loops, voltage stabilization, frequency modulation, and AD conversion.
The TRX_120_001 requires a DC supply of 3.3 V and consumes 112 mA of current. It is available in a QFN package that measures 8 x 8 mm and is ideal for external signal evaluation applications like the investigation of material surfaces, the measurement of layer thicknesses, and other properties of the measurement objects. This Radar Transceiver can also be used in short-range radar systems with an operation range of up to 10 meters. Using dielectric lenses or mirrors, this range can be increased beyond 100 meters.
