The E8708A from Keysight Technologies is an Automotive Radar Target Simulator that operates from 76 to 81 GHz. It is optimized separately for two different frequency bands, from 76 to 77 GHz & 77 to 81 GHz, and is designed to measure the range and radar cross section (RCS) of the device under test (DUT). This simulator offers a full simulation range from 4 to 300 m (range resolution of 0.1 m) or fixed definable ranges, which helps to scale the price vs. usage model for customers. It includes a new signal analyzer that conducts average power and occupied bandwidth measurements in the same simulator box, along with single or dual-horn antennas, and a circulator.
The E8708A also integrates a signal generator for Doppler measurements from -360 km/h to 360 km/h with a resolution of 0.1 km/h. This simulator requires a minimum separation distance of 1 m between the test system and the DUT to help reduce valuable manufacturing floor space. It can be configured using LAN or RJ45 Ethernet interfaces via a GUI. This simulator is available in a chassis-mount enclosure that measures 222 x 574 x 425 mm and has SMA connectors. It is ideal for adaptive cruise control testing, collision warning testing, and ADAS calibration applications.
