ATA8210 Image

The ATA8210/15 from Atmel is a low-power UHF ASK/FSK RF receiver that operates from 310 MHz to 318 MHz, 418 MHz to 477 MHz and 836 MHz to 956 MHz. It is partitioned into three sections; an RF front end, a digital baseband and the low-power 8-bit AVR microcontroller. This Receiver IC provides a high sensitivity of -122.5 dBm typ. (0.75 Kbit/s, FSK, Manchester code, at 433.92 MHz) and -125 dBm typ. (at 0.5Kbit/s, ASK, Manchester code, at 433.92 MHz), respectively. It achieves low power consumption through its superior blocking capabilities, which eliminate disturbances. With few disturbances, the digital logic is rarely awakened, resulting in a current consumption as low as 9.8 mA in receive mode (low-band, 310-318MHz, 418-477 MHz, 1.2mA, 21ms cycle, 3-channel polling).

This IC implements a flexible service configuration concept and supports up to 15 channels. The configuration of the receiver is stored in a 1024 byte EEPROM and the SPI interface enables external control and device reconfiguration. It is available in a QFN GH 32 package and is ideal for Industrial and consumer applications including RF remote control such as garage door openers, smart metering, home automation and building security systems.
