The Sterling-LWB+ Series from Laird Connectivity are 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 4 (802.11b/g/n) and Bluetooth v5.2 Modules. They are based on the Infineon CYW43439 chipset and have integrated a PA/LNA. The modules deliver a Tx power of up to 18 dBm and have Rx sensitivity of -94 dBm. They support Bluetooth Low Energy features like Basic rate, Enhanced Data Rate, Bluetooth 5.0 Secure connection, multiple simultaneous A2DP streams, adaptive frequency hopping (AFH), and eSCO enhanced voice quality. These modules also support WPA/WPA2/WPA3 personal and enterprise, Station, and SoftAP Wi-Fi features.
The modules require a DC supply of 3.3 V and consume less than 301 mA of current in Tx mode. They can be controlled via SDIO v2.0, HCI HS-UART, and PCM interfaces. The Sterling-LWB+ Series modules are available in an embedded SiP module that measures 12 x 12 x 3 mm or a PCB module that measures 21 x 15.5 x 4 mm with an MHF4/onboard chip antenna interface. These modules are ideal for rugged handheld devices, industrial IoT connectivity, medical devices, and industrial IoT sensor applications.
