The LM961 from LM Technologies is a Bluetooth 5.0 Module that is designed for industrial IoT applications. This single-core standalone module combines Bluetooth low energy technology and Bluetooth v2.0 & v2.1 radios into a single Bluetooth 5.0 stack.

The module has an integrated MCU unit with an 8 Mbit flash memory for running applications. It delivers a Tx power of up to 10 dBm and has a receiver sensitivity of up to -92 dBm. It requires a DC supply of 5 V and incorporates 29 pinouts, including I2C, UART, AIO, PIO, PWM, and USB for interfacing with sensors and many other peripheral devices.

The LM961 is designed for various use cases such as GAP Central (master) device, SPP or GAP peripheral device, or SPP to serial bridge. It is backward compatible with V4.2, 4.1, 4.0, 3.0, 2.1, and 2.0 and supports OTA updates and AT commands. The AT command set controls the primary operations such as information inquiry, connection/disconnection set up, and settings. It is available in a module that measures 18.9 x 12.71 x 2.55 mm with an on-board IC antenna.
