The Type 2EG from Murata is a Bluetooth 5.2 Wireless Module for connected IoT edge devices in industrial and medical applications. It is based on Onsemi’s RSL15 SoC and has a built-in ARM Cortex M33 core with 80 kB RAM (including 64 kB user RAM) and 512 kB Flash. This module has an integrated IoT cybersecurity platform and supports Bluetooth’s higher throughput, increased broadcast capacity, improved channel co-existence algorithm (SCA), and long range and proximity features. It requires a DC supply from 1.71 to 3.46 V, consumes 4.3 mA of current in Tx mode, 2.7 mA of current in Rx mode and 36 nA in sleep mode.

The Type 2EG provides a transmit power of up to 6 dBm and has an Rx sensitivity of -96 dBm (@1 Mbps). It can be controlled via GPIO, ADC, DAC, PWM, I2C, UART, SPI (QSPI), PCM, and Debug SWD interfaces. This module is available in an LGA package that measures 7.4 x 7.0 x 1.0 mm with an antenna interface (built-in PCB antenna or optional external antenna from pin pad).
