The Type 2EL from Murata is a 2.4/5 GHz Wi-Fi 6 + Bluetooth 5.3 BR/EDR/LE + 802.15.4 Combo Module. It delivers a data rate of up to 601 Mbps on Wi-Fi and up to 2 Mbps on Bluetooth. This module is based on an NXP IW612 combo chipset and implements highly sophisticated enhanced collaborative coexistence hardware mechanisms and algorithms, which ensure that WLAN, Bluetooth, and 802.15.4 collaboration is optimized for maximum performance. It supports SISO with 20 MHz, 40 MHz, and 80 MHz channels and up to 1024QAM modulation schemes. The module requires a DC supply from 1.71 to 3.46 V and consumes less than 1009 mA of current.

The Type 2EL can be controlled via SDIO v3.0 DDR50 interface (for Wi-Fi) and high-speed 4-wire UART interface (for Bluetooth), PCM for audio data and SPI & GPIO peripheral interfaces. It is available in a shielded SMT package that measures 7.7 x 8.8 x 1.3 mm and is ideal for handheld wireless systems, gateway and IoT applications.
