The Type 2GT from Murata is a LoRa Connectivity Module that operates at 860-930 MHz, 2.4 GHz ISM band and 2.1 GHz satellite S-Band. It provides multi-band LoRa and Long Range - Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (LR-FHSS) communication and is designed for global deployment with Radio Law certification obtained for major regions. This module is based on Semtech’s third-generation LoRa Connect LR1121 transceiver with integrated TCXO, crystal oscillators, a matching network and an RF switch. It requires a DC supply of 1.8-3.6 V and can be controlled via SPI and GPIO interfaces.
The Type 2GT uses the 2.4 GHz ISM band to streamline inventory management with a single SKU, ensuring higher throughput and eliminating duty cycle limitations in Europe. With the 2.1 GHz satellite S-Band, it can communicate directly with an S-Band satellite. It supports FSK, LoRa and LR-FHSS modulation schemes. This module is available in an LGA package that measures 9.98 x 8.70 x 1.74 mm and is ideal for IoT applications such as smart homes, agricultural sensors, building automation, smart cities, asset tracking, retail store sensors, smart meters, environmental sensors, etc.
