The PAN1740A Series from Panasonic Corporation is a Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy RF Module based on the ARM CORTEX M0 CPU. This single-mode Bluetooth 5.0 module has a receiver sensitivity of -93 dBm and offers a data rate of up to 1 Mbps. The device is optimized with remote control units (RCU) for supporting voice commands and motion/gesture recognition. It can be used as a stand-alone application processor or as a data pump in hosted systems. The module requires a supply voltage of 3.3V and has a current consumption of 4.9 mA (Rx and Tx).
It supports all the profiles published by the Bluetooth SIG and Custom profiles. The Bluetooth LE firmware includes the L2CAP service layer protocols, Security Manager (SM), Attribute Protocol (ATT), the Generic Attribute Profile (GATT), and the Generic Access Profile (GAP). It has dedicated hardware for the implementation of Bluetooth LE Link Layer and is interfaced with controllers for enhanced connectivity.
This module is integrated with an Audio Unit (AU) which offers an easy interface for MEMS microphones over PDM, UART/SPI/I2C, external codecs over PCM/I2S, and a Sample Rate Converter unit. It also supports USB-Dongle Functionality which enable users to integrate this module through their device with Dialog’s Keil Compiler And Microsoft Visual Projects. The module is available in an SMD package with an antenna and measures 9 x 9.5 x 1.8 mm.
