The KG100S from Quectel is a Sub-GHz/2.4 GHz LoRa, FSK, and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) Combo Module that is designed for Amazon Sidewalk applications. It uses BLE for short-distance communication and LoRa and FSK radio protocols at 900 MHz frequencies to cover longer distances. This module includes an ARM Cortex-M33 processor (80 MHz), has a built-in SX1262 LoRa and FSK transceiver, and a microcontroller with a 2.4 GHz radio transceiver to support Bluetooth Low Energy 5.1 standards. It integrates all the hardware and software resources required for Amazon Sidewalk, a shared wireless network that uses Amazon Sidewalk Bridges, such as compatible Amazon Echo and Ring devices, to provide cloud connectivity for IoT devices.
The KG1000S requires a DC supply from 1.8 to 3.3 V and can be controlled via GPO, GPIO, UART SWD, SPI, and I2C interfaces. It is available in a 56-pin LGA package that measures 15.00 x 15.00 x 2.25 mm and is ideal for a multitude of sensors and actuators in applications such as smart locks, door sensors, gas and water leak detection, pet tracking, connected appliances, indoor air quality sensors, HVAC monitoring, smart parking and traffic monitoring, utility metering, waste management, air quality monitoring, flood management, and tracking assets such as pallets and returnable packaging.
