The JODY-W6 Series from u-blox are Tri-band Wi-Fi 6E and Dual-Mode Bluetooth 5.3 Modules that operate in the 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz bands. They are based on the automotive-qualified NXP AW693 chip and are AEC-Q104 automotive-qualified qualified manufactured in line with ISO/TS 16949. These modules support dual-mode Bluetooth 5.3 BR/EDR and LE features, such as high data rates, extended advertising, long-range, and the use of isochronous channels for LE Audio, fully simultaneously to Wi-Fi operation. They support 2x2 MIMO and beamforming for Wi-Fi and 20, 40, & 80 MHz channels Wi-Fi channels. The modules require a DC supply of 1.8 or 3 V.
The JODY-W6 Series of modules deliver a data rate of up to 1.34 Gbit/s (IEEE 802.11ax) in three bands with concurrent dual Wi-Fi (2x2 at 5/6 GHz + 1x1 at 2.4 GHz) and a BLE PHY data rate of up to 2 Mbit/s. They support full AES hardware encryption and secure boot (NXP Edgelock) for security. These modules are available in LGA packages that measure 13.8 x 19.8 x 2.5 mm and can be controlled via PCIe (Wi-Fi), 4-wire high-speed UART (Bluetooth), PCM, I2S, WCI-2 (2-wire), PTA (5-wire) and GPIO interfaces. They are ideal for advanced in-vehicle infotainment and telematics use cases requiring high throughput (in-car hotspots), display (e.g. Apple CarPlay) and video streaming for multiple clients operating as an access point, station in P2P connections, or combinations of these.
