The MP-9000-22 Series from Microwave Photonic Systems are Microwave Fiber Optic Transmitters that operate from DC to 22 GHz. These transmitters are the next-generation of RF-over-Fiber (RFoF) electrical-to-optical (E/O) transducers intended to carry optical signals via single mode fibers over distances of more than 100 km. They leverage a newly developed, disruptive E/O conversion technology along with MPS’ proprietary RF circuits to reduce the system noise figure, physical size, and cost of the transmitter. These optical transmitters have an operational wavelength of 1550 nm and deliver an output power of 11 mW.
These SWaP-C-optimized optical transmitters integrate MP-8000-RX’s companion photonic receiver’s incorporation of a high-speed, low-distortion PIN photodiode detector to ensure low noise and high dynamic range link performance with varying frequency, temperature, and optical loss budgets. They also include advanced built-in test (BIT) diagnostic capabilities, which provide remote status and monitoring of critical parameters. These modules are available in rack-mount enclosures that measure 5.00 x 2.50 x 1.25 inches with 2.92 mm (K, female) RF connectors and FC/APC, SC/APC, E2000, PC/APC, and AVIM optical connectors.
The MP-9000-22 Series transmitters are ideal for inter-facility links, microwave antenna remoting, test and measurement, wideband delay lines, phased array antennas, signal processing systems, and secure communication applications. They require a DC supply of 15 V and consume 6 W of power.
