The OZ526 from Optical Zonu is an RF-over-Fiber (RFoF) Module that operates from 30 MHz to 3 GHz (optional 10 kHz to 6 GHz). It features an uncooled isolated DFB laser diode operating at 1310 nm, 1550 nm, or CWDM wavelengths. This RFoF module has an adjustable Tx/Rx RF gain range of 30 dB which can be adjusted remotely. It uses 9/125 μm single mode fiber for standard transport with the option for multimode fiber transport. The module has a wide dynamic range and supports RF transport in situations where transport distance or flexibility of cabling may prohibit the use of coaxial cable. It has built-in RF shielding for low EMI/RF interference and option for Tx LNA and bias-T. It requires a DC supply of +12 V.
The OZ526 includes average automatic power control (AAPC) that provides closed-loop control of the transmitter's optical output power over the full operating temperature range. It supports GPS, IRIGB/1PPS/TTL, and low-phase noise clock distribution. This module is available in a compact package that measures 1.5 x 2.5 x 0.6 inches with SMA RF connectors and SC/APC optical connectors (FC/APC is also available). It is ideal for use in L-Band Satcom, cellular backhaul, MMDS, antenna remoting, GPS distribution, antenna site diversity, low phase noise reference, clock distribution, and optical delay lines applications.
